The above image is perhaps the oldest piece of digital media I've ever made that still exists. As of writing this, it's probably going to be about 20 years old (it must have been around 2004-ish), just about as old as the HTML skills I've used to write this very website! I've made it way, way back when I was in (the Austrian equivalent of) highschool, on a school computer, in the same room I learned HTML.
It's a little funny to me how vividly I remember creating this image. I distinctly remember pulling the source image from Google Images, using a very old version of Photoshop that was available on the school computer to edit it, how there was a brush that let you place a bunch of tiny little transparent blades of grass in rainbow colors, down to experimenting with various brushes to create the wiggly lines within the laser.
Why a blowfish that shoots a laser (or "lazor" as I've spelt it as a teen)? No clue, really. It's most likely due to the absurdity of early internet memes, notably "shoop da whoop" (also known as "imma firin' mah lazer"), which is a silly face firing a laser.
